Failed Success of Celebrity Credit Card Offers
Celeb Credit Cards
[May 23, 2008]
It's not news that some super stars happen to be really great business owners on top of their talents. Actresses, musicians, TV-stars launch their own clothing lines and new fragrances and it must be said these brand new products win the hearts of die-hard fans and not only. Oddly enough, credit cards from celebrities appeared to be not so popular and most of them failed soon after their launch.
Though celebs have been trying to launch unique credit offers, few of celeb-brand plastics have met the requirements of cardholders. What's the reason for this bad luck? Why does celebrity-brand clothing win but credit cards not? Read on for more information!
Most people love celebrities, some are infatuated with stars' life, news, special events, and parties. Magazines, commercials, press feature rich and famous and their lifestyle. To buy a hot handbag from Fergi's new handbag line is definitely tempting. But somehow, customers are not so fond of the idea to carry plastics from celebs in their wallets.
Today, you can find a few celebrity credit and debit card offers. Some of them are rewards card deals, while others are prepaid credit cards. But the problem is, they're not that popular as the stars whose images and names we can see on these cards. It must be said that the list of celebrity plastics is not long at all as most cards failed over the time.
Fervent music fans may apply for the KISS Visa credit card to get news updates straight from the band. The card gives great discounts on selected merchandise plus a low APR that will definitely gladden rock'n'roll band fans.
Other credit offers from celebrities issued by giants Visa and MasterCard include the Carmen Electra prepaid MasterCard, the Elvis Visa card, Johnny Cash prepaid MasterCard. Not so long ago, a famous R'n'B star Usher introduced his prepaid credit card. These days, you can only find two limited edition Visa gift cards instead of it. Hilary Duff also made attempts to provide teens with prepaid cards but it expired a few years after its launch. Gone are the cards from great wrestlers Hulk Hogan, Sting, and Bill Goldberg.
Expert brand developers explain this phenomenon the following way. When launching some product, stars do not care about the money they will get. The best award for them will be fame, not money. All the more so, they start establishing businesses that somehow tied with their primary occupation. You can see lots of star names in the world of fashion and beauty, and these brands are really successful.
Let us be honest, we all would like to take solid beauty advice from some celebrity. But when it comes to money matters, it crosses the line in the mind of a consumer, it's too much. First of all, not every pop star is associated with great business achievements like Donald Trump whose credit card offer you can easily find online. Would you like to take advice from Hilary Duff or Usher? Maybe, but oftentimes, people's credit choice is based on other factors, like brand, credit features, incentives and credit rewards. We must accept the truth that celebrity credit cards are not that great. Though they come with rewarding programs that hit the fans, they're far from the best plastic money deals.

Well, I think that all that celeb stuff is for teenagers. Adults evaluate credit cards according to their features and options. That's why they choose other plastics.
