A few easy ways to match what you need to a particular credit card offer
Match Your Card Offer
[April 24, 2007]
There are so many credit card offers out on the market that have so many features for so many people. Credit card companies are just vying for the attention of as many card holders as possible. It doesn’t matter what logo is on your card, VISA, MasterCard, Discover or American Express, they want your business! Because of this, more and more card holders are realizing that they have more choices when it comes to cards. No longer is it just a simple decision about card choices now the opportunities are limitless!
When you are deciding which card suits your needs the best, think of these questions as a starting point:
- What kind of credit do I have? Excellent credit, good credit, fair credit or bad credit?
- Do I usually pay off my balances in full each month or do I keep a running balance?
- Do I travel a lot or visit a store/ restaurant more then others?
By answering these questions you can come to a solid conclusion about which credit card company has the best unsecured credit card offers. While you may need more then one card to fit all of your needs, you are already well on your way to getting the most out of your credit card. Here’s how you can do it!
What you spend and how. Before you select the right card, you have to look at your habits. This means evaluating what you spend and how you pay it back. Look at both your credit card and bank statements and you should be able to get a clear picture pretty quickly. Figure out if you put everything on your credit card or if you use a combination with cash. Then look to see if you usually pay your balance in full each month or not.
You can also use programs such as Quicken or Money in order to download your financial information. These programs work for the more technologically sound people!
Playing the matching game! Now comes the fun part – the matching game! Your goal is to find the credit card offer that best exemplifies what you need in a card. Whether that means low rates (if you tend to carry a normal balance) or travel rewards / cash back (if you love to travel or get money for spending).
Whatever you are looking for, you can usually find it online. On the Internet there are usually plenty of guaranteed approval credit cards which will instantly let you know, if you have been approved for the card or not. This can save you a lot of time if you are waiting for a reply from the credit card company!
As you analyze the results from looking over your financial history, you will pick up on more and more things that will help you decide which card is best for you. If you have bad credit you may be restricted to a card without rewards and with a high rate of interest. Hey, this is a start for you to bring your credit score up!
Use this chance to show creditors that you are a reliable card holder. Sometimes those with bad credit are only allowed to use a secured credit card which works in a similar fashion as a debit card. Secured credit cards work off of a specific debt amount that you have given your financial institute for this purpose. These cards are a great way to work on your credit.
If you are an individual with excellent credit, then you will have many more options when it comes to the best credit cards online. In regards to rewards you will often have the choice between restaurant gift certificates, travel, cash back and merchandise. Also, you will have a better chance of getting a lower rate of interest because you have a proven record of paying back your debts.
Also, if you are a student or a small business owner then you can choose a student credit card or a business card. Remember, look for instant online approval and look for low rates when you are getting a credit card. With all of the different options out there, a card holder can choose one of a multitude of cards!
